Damage Formula

Esper Cycle Damage

EsperCycleDmg = EsperCycleBase × IntensityZone × CRIT × Defense × Resistance × StainVuln × FinalBonus × Special
Esper Cycle base damage scales with the level of the character who triggers the cycle.

Reaction Catalog

Characters accumulate "Esper Cycle Value" when dealing damage. When full, switching to a character with a compatible attribute triggers a Support Skill and an Elemental Esper Cycle reaction.

2.3

Esper Cycle Intensity

Intensity boosts cycle effects. When two characters trigger together, the higher final value applies.

For damage cycles (Blossom, Nova, Scorch)
CycleIntensityZone = 1 + (CycleIntensity / 600)
For effect cycles (Hexed, Stain)
CycleIntensityCoef = 1 + (0.2 × CycleIntensity) / (CycleIntensity + 180)
2.4

Triggering Rules

  • The "Trigger" is whichever character yields the highest Base × IntensityZone. Ties go to the character who used their Support Skill.
  • Blossom and Scorch inherit the trigger's element and respect the trigger's RES PEN / DEF PEN.
  • Nova is always Mental damage.
  • Nova caveat 1: Nova targets enemy Mental RES but does not benefit from character Mental Damage Bonus%.
  • Nova caveat 2 (snapshotting): Nova detonates 5s after triggering. For HP-scaling Nova (Fadia), damage uses Max HP at the moment of detonation, not at cast.
2.5

CRIT for Esper Cycles

By default Blossom and Nova cannot CRIT (multiplier = 1). Scorch has a fixed 50% CRIT rate; its CRIT DMG depends on the trigger.

2.6

Esper Cycle Value

Default Max Esper Cycle Value is 100. Accumulated by almost all damage types except Support Skills and Ultimates — Skill damage usually charges it fast.

Energy Generation: the on-field character triggering a skill receives 100% of generated energy; off-field teammates receive 60%.

2.7

Esper Cycle Enhancements

Each character has a unique, non-upgradable enhancement that buffs a specific Esper Cycle just by being in the party (e.g. Adler buffs Scorch, Fadia buffs Nova to steal Max HP).
